The Aspire Tower is the landmark of the Asian Games 2006 in Doha, Qatar. Located directly next to the Games Stadia, construction of the 318 meter high tower commenced in April 2005, with final completion of the interior due by August 2007.
The tower is designed to resemble a large torch, which is achieved with wire mesh elements supplied by Haver & Boecker. The facade consists of 3452 single elements with a total area of appr. 30,000 square meters.
Architect : Building Design Partnership
The multi-storey car-park at this award winning project features elements of weave type MULTI-BARRETTE 8123. The openess of the mesh provides natural light and ventilation to the car park.
Architect : Hypostyle
Floating elements of weave type MULTI-BARRETTE 8301 provide effective, contemporary solar shading to the 3 storey extension.
The stainless steel mesh compliments the palette of high quality materials used throughout the project.
Architect : Nightingale Associates
The externall cat-walk to the large glazed facade was dressed with weave type MULTI-BARRETTE 8124, offering sun protection and at the same time maintaining natural light levels within.
The mesh also provides privacy protection for the nearby residents by creating a visible barrier and a perceived obscuring of views from inside the building.
