Architect: Taylor Young Architects

In the courtyard area of the refurbished Design Studio, panels of  DOKA-MONO 1601 became part of the landscape architecture.  Using two layers of mesh fascinating Moiré effects are achieved.  At night, the illuminated elements reflect the light and add further interest to the landscape.

Southport Marine Lake

Architects: cammdesign

On the west bank of the redeveloped Marine Lake, two orientation beacons with seating were installed.

As the lake is home to large numbers of water fowl and the Southport Sailing Club, the beacons were designed in the form of stylised Yachts with navigation lights at the mast head. The sails are created from single and double layers of H&B DOKAWELL-MONO 3381. The resulting moiré effects create the feeling of movement as the viewer moves around the promenade.

The mesh sails are powerfully backlit at night.

Elements of EGLA-TWIN 4243 clad the external fire escape spiral staircase.  With the twin wires in the horizontal plane, the panels follow the curve naturally without any additional forming.
